Initial Consultation

Your input is critical to our success, and we will work as partners through the process. Now is the time to express your ideas. We will provide recommendations, and guidelines for quality, stable, and safe furniture. On rare occasion, we reserve the right to reject certain designs if we do not believe we can produce a quality product. Initial consultations are always free of charge.

Our initial consultations are usually held in our homes, which serve as showrooms for our work. The homes are located a few minutes apart, and you are welcome to poke around to see our pieces first hand. If you arrive at the right time, Eric is known to feed people a spur of the moment gourmet meal.

There is a wide difference between period furniture and custom built-in work. Each area is truly a specialty, and it is rare to have a combination in one company. This blend of skills gives Artisans the ability to create works of art and beauty in both free standing and built-in furniture.

We have been solving design and space problems for over thirty years. The initial consultation will determine the type of commission you are interested in, and set the course for the design phase.

During the initial consultation, we will discuss materials, coloring, and functions of the piece. Specific details will be determined during the design phase. We will guide you in determining if solid wood or plywood is preferable, and help focus on an appropriate project scale and budget.
