Furniture & woodworking requires attention and care to last generations and hold its value, but seems to be one of the most neglected items in homes and buildings. Artisans of the Valley now offers onsite nick and bang repair, scratch removal, cleaning, and waxing services on any woodwork.

Artisans is also the only "Nick and Bang" restoration service that can back up our onsite services with not only the ability to completely restore your modern and antique furniture - but we are an original design and reproduction shop capable of producing museum quality furniture.

Repairs can be completed on antique and modern wood furniture, doors, window frames, moldings, built-in furniture, mantles, or any other damaged woodwork. We have also added stone, granite, marble, and Corrian polishing and dressing to our array of services.

We decided to add this service to our portfolio in 2006 as a sister service to our museum quality antique restoration services.

Artisans maintains a complete array of Mohawk's professional furniture touch up products, and will visit your home to handle any minor furniture repairs. We will evaluate your piece, determine the proper course of action, and either provide any feasible service onsite or recommend a full restoration of your piece at our shop.

We are now equip to handle finishes ranging from shellac, tung oil, varnish, lacquer, urethanes, and acrylics.

Our services include restoration of scratches, animal damage (dog chews), dents, edge damage, finish damage, and gouges. We can fill in and blend satin, semi-gloss, and even high gloss finishes.

This includes the use of detailed graining pens and tools to texture patches, allowing a repair to appear almost indiscernible from the original wood.

Dents and gouges are filled using select materials including epoxy fillers, burn-in sticks, and detailed color matching of base materials as well as the finish coats on modern pieces. Artisans also maintains an inventory of our own hand made secrete mixtures and potions for use on antiques.

In addition, we will provide a general cleaning and wax process for your pieces without removal or damage to the original finish.

Onsite service is provided to NJ & Eastern PA, and is offered by appointment. Customers are also welcome to bring small pieces to our shop for Cleaning, Scratch & Dent Removal, or Waxing Services.

Artisans offers our services to residential customers, as well as commercial institutions, museums, restaurants, architects & interior designers, decorators, furniture stores, schools, hotels, etc.

Our standard on-site repair and restoration rates begin with an initial site visit fee of $100. This includes the first half hour and travel time within 30 minutes. Additional time is billable at $50 for each half-hour after the initial half hour.

Keep in mind that most basic repairs can be completed within 15-30 minutes. A basic repair consists of a scratch, dent, or simple edge damage. Often multiple small repairs can be completed within 30 minutes.

We accept cash or checks, no credit cards please. All payments for non-account based services due upon completion.

Institutional rates are available, including options for monthly billing.
